NYC’s Member-Only Dining Club to Open for NFT Holders Only

Flyfish Club will become the first-ever members-only dining club in NYC to enable users to buy membership only in NFTs. It’ll open in 2023. Know more.

Entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk founded hospitality company, VCR Group, has announced the live token sale of Flyfish Club, its latest members-only private dining club in New York City. The seafood restaurant-goers of this club will have to buy their memberships in NFTs (non-fungible tokens) on the blockchain. This NYC dining club will reportedly open in 2023.

The dining club has tweeted through its @Flyfishclub Twitter handle that:

“Flyfish Club (FFC) is the world's first member's only private dining club where membership is purchased on the blockchain as a Non-Fungible-Token (NFT) and owned by the token-holder to gain access to our restaurant and various culinary, cultural and social experiences.”

While answering the question of why they have selected NFT for becoming a member of its Flyfish Club, the VCR Group has said on FFC’s website that:

“By utilizing NFT's, FFC is able to create a loyal, member-community that we can provide special experiences for. NFT's create new modernistic financial models, which will allow FFC to deliver an exceptional and sustainable product for years to come.”

Currently, the members can buy two types of memberships:

Membership Type #1: This is the regular membership type, which costs 2.5 ETH. It enables members to access:

  • Main dining room
  • Outdoor space and cocktail lounge
  • Special events

Membership Type #2: This is the pricier membership type, which costs 4.25 ETH. It is called “Flyfish Omakase” membership tier, which provides its members access a 14-seat omakase room in addition to special events, outdoor space, cocktail lounge, and main dining room.

The new and third membership type is called “Flyfish Membership NFT”. It enables NFT holders to either resell it or monthly lease their non-fungible tokens to non-NFT hodlers. No reoccurring annual fees are there. The customers of this dining club have to make payment for their foods and beverages in terms of US Dollar (USD) and not in cryptocurrencies.

However, Flyfish Club is not the first members-only NFT restaurant to introduce the concept of cryptocurrency integration into its business model. Crypto Street Restaurant is yet another food joint that not only accepts cryptocurrency payments but also boasts of crypto-themed wall arts and menu items.
